Amanda is currently Chair of Trustees for Healthwatch Essex and is very proud of the work Healthwatch undertake providing information and guidance and engaging with local communities to capture real life experiences of health and social care and influence how health and social care is provided. Amanda is passionate about community based care and support and community palliative care and sincerely hopes this is an area that the ICP will be able to improve.
Amanda retired having been the Chief Executive and Registered Manager of a homecare service for 11 years, prior to this Amanda was the first Chief Executive appointed by The Fragile X Society which supports families affected by this inherited learning disability.
For many years Amanda was Regional Manager of a large group of nursing homes, caring for people with dementia and Huntingdon’s Disease, and some of the first Close Care Communities. Amanda also worked as an Army Nursing Officer for 8 years having worked in the NHS as a Registered Nurse and Midwife.
