Involving patients and the public in our work helps to make sure that people who use local services can shape every part of our health and care system. This can lead to better, more effective services and improved health outcomes.
At the ICB we are responsible for many different aspects of health and care. We involve local people across a range of service areas and in different ways.
Read the following documents to find out about our commitment to involving local people and about our approach to involving patients and local people.
The ICB’s constitution commits us to making sure that people are involved in planning services and in making any changes to services that could affect them.
Read our patient and public involvement strategy for more detailed information about our approach to working with local people to shape services.
Our involvement and engagement framework sets out the different ways people and communities should expect to influence decision-making, and how to give feedback and ideas. We want to engage people at all levels from decisions made by the ICB board through to community and neighbourhood engagement. We also want to make sure that everyone has an equal opportunity to take part so that we learn from and support people facing the hardest health and care challenges. You can read the Involvement and Engagement Framework here.
The NHS constitution sets out patients’ right to ‘Involvement in your healthcare and the NHS‘.
